Firmware oficial RKM MK802-IIIs BT a 1080p (22-07-2013) - Versión 1

Desde RKM nos llega un nuevo firmware oficial para el popular TV-Stick Dual Core MK802-IIIs con BT. No hay Changelog de momento.

Este firmware SOLO VA A 1080p de resolución con lo cual se pierde rendimiento.

Este frimware es incompatible con al nueva version del modelo se TVStick - NO FLASHEAR

A la espera del changelog, a ver si merece la pena... La verdad es que me da mucha pereza tener que instalar todo luego y configurármelo a mi gusto... :S No hay ninguna manera de "actualizar" sin tener que hacer wype?

Lo decía porque tengo la de serie, sin modificar, y no sé si ya vienen rooteadas. La cosa es que para no tener que pasar por todo el proceso de instalar y configurar podría utilizar el Titanium backup como decía litry, pero sigo teniendo la duda de si es posible actualizar (oficial a oficial) sin tener que hacer «wype»...

He instalado el nuevo firmware esta tarde y el rato que lo he usado me ha parecido mucho más fluido que el anterior.
La única novedad que he visto por ahora se pueden hacer capturas de pantalla; en Ajustes sale un submenú para configurar el retardo y se puede poner un icono en la barra de estado para capturar. No he podido averiguar cómo realizarlas sin necesidad de usar ese icono, pero supongo que se podrá de alguna manera.
Al igual que en la versión de junio del firmware, viene incluida la aplicación WifiDirect, que sigo sin saber para qué es.

Tried 4 times, update always FAILS.

Check firmware failes at 84%. Always...

Flash back previous firmware (18/6) always has no problems.

Noticed the Boot ver. was updated in the new firmware (1.35 in 22/7 frmw vs 1.22 in 18/6 frmw).
Perhaps it is this???

Me estoy volviendo loco, hago lo mismo de siempre para actualizar el cacharro y cuando llega a checking firmware en el 51% me da error. Solo me pasa con esta nueva version las demas las instala sin problemas. Alguna sugerencia? gracias

Actualice en 2 dispositivos sin problema, pero no se como hacer que se vean con WiFi Display ( no sé si eso se puede hacer) Los dispositivos estan conectados en 2 tv´s en dos pisos distintos, ambos conectados a la misma red inalambrica sin problemas. Alguien que haya probado esta novedad de la 4.2

Sorry (or happy) that you verified the problem...

To you it happens at 51% to me at 84% always.

Tried different cables (with and without ferrite beads), different usb ports, windows 8, windows XP (on different laptops) and older flash tools as well (v1.6 and v1.5).

This MUST be a problem in the new loader version, and only on a specific batch of devices.
Manufacturers change parts all the time (i.e. 1 batch is made with Micron flash chips, another with Hynix chips)
This is why some of you flash with success, and some always fail, but only with this firmware version.


If there is a way to unpack the single firmware image ( to have boot, misc, kernel etc seperate .img) parhaps we can use the previous loader.

For the moment, stay to 18/6 firmware...

Searching, i found: how-unpack-mk808-firmware-2922 on tabletrepublic.
(google it, i can not post links)

So, download RK29xxImageTools_v21 from the 4shared link.
Unpackit in a folder, copy 'MK802IIIS-BT img' (from 22/7 firmware) in it and rename it to: 'wendal img'.
Open a command prompt in this folder and run 'Runme bat'.

The tool will create inside the RK29xxImageTools_v21 folder a 'Temp' folder with the unpacked firmware.

Then download RKDevelopTool_v1.35 zip (google it)
Unpackit in a folder, and copy in this folder the previously created 'Temp' folder with all its contents.
Rename this 'Temp' folder into 'rockdev'.

Open RKAndroidTool exe, click the small square in the end of each line and browse inside 'rockdev' folder to pick the corresponding file (Loader, parameter etc).

Connect device, first do 'EraseIDB' then 'Run'. For me it was a success...


Use at your own risk.

PS. Just for the fun of it, after this succesfull update with RKAndroidTool exe, i retried flashing with the RKBatchTool exe that comes with the orig. firmware. Still the same read failure at 84%.

Looking at the files created from RK29xxImageTools (specifically the 'parameter' file) i saw the main difference that perhaps causes failure for some.
They changed the partitioning of the Nand (especially the 'system' partition) considerably.

Somehow, on some devices, this causes failure.

Para los que no pueden actualizar.

Traduccion:

Descargamos las wendan tools y descomprimimos en una carpeta.
Pulsamos "1" e intro para hacer UNAPCK

Copiamos el fichero de la rom *.IMG dentro de la carpeta de wendal y lo renombramos a "wendal.img"

Ejecutamos "runme.bat"

Esto extraerá los ficheros que contiene el archivo IMG.
Dentro de la carpeta \Temp: RK30xxLoader(L)_V1.32.bin, parameter
Dentro de la carpeta \Temp\Image: boot.img, kernel.img, misc.img, recovery.img, system.img

Descargamos las RKDevelop_tools_1.7 y descomprimimos.

Lo arrancamos y cambiamos todos los ficheros por los nuevos de la carpeta wendal\temp que hemos extraido. Backup.img no es necesario.

Pulsamos en 'EraseIDB' y luego 'Run'

Flasheo completo.

Instalado OK, y probado OK el WIFI DIRECT, WIFI DISPLAY y el REMOTE CONTROL con GAMEPAD.
