Finally after a long wait we have the new release of Kitkat ready for the x7 Series (Version 240)
THE DEV TEAM;
This release was made by the developers team at www.minixforum.com;
- HardwareGuru
- Gufone
- KAR
The firmware is build through the MINIX guidelines and thus provided as Official firmware.
- Approved by MINIX.
Changelog (2.4.0) ( Current release )
- USB fixes ( X5 series )
- Sleep working (X5 series)
- Camera fixes
- Full redesign of the media framework ( more video apps should work now by default HLS 0 ! )
- fixed permission issues.
- disabled multi user for now, till we find a remote friendly lock-screen.
- Rendering a new layer for video.
- X5 series have full 1080p now ( screen scale works )
- updated pre-installed apps
- New OTA methods
- After fw update also preinstalled updates will reinstall.
- new bigger mouse pointer.
- Google play music added to pre-installed apps.
- Updated the pre-installed apps.
- Google play music, Hulu Plus, Youtube live are working !
- No missing bitmaps any more during recovery.
- and lots of things you wont even notice
WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! NOT EASY TO GO BACK TO 4.2!!
(You need to use RK flashtool, do not try to flash it like an OTA update.zip !)
OTA:
People can upgrade from Community edition firmware (2.1.0+) will receive an OTA update online.
You don't have to flash this firmware!

ONLY For people that have online OTA errors when system was tampered with.
Rename to "update.zip" and copy it to your internal flash.
ROOTED DEVICES!
Rooted devices may have issues with the OTA, if that happens you have to reflash your device!
Changed system files can cause the OTA to abort! you can use the Full OTA above.
Available Updates:
Kitkat CE - root update
Kitkat CE - unroot update
To install the available updates (this is not for the Firmware!) rename the downloaded file to update.zip and place at the internal flash drive root, android will find the update and request you to install.
